For Parents and Kids: Family Therapy that Works

A healthy family is a healthy world.

In my training as a psychotherapist, there were many pathways open for me to explore. The world of the Family has been an area of intrigue and curiosity from the start.

While my work with this population has greatly evolved over the years, one thing has remained consistent: a deep awe and appreciation for what is possible when a family takes a leap of faith together.

I am shown time and again how much influence exists in this sacred system. To be a witness and a guide to parents, and to be an advocate and believer of a child, is something I hold dear.

Going on 10 years of this work, I feel as energized as ever to show up for this population, one that continues to hold a very special place in my heart.

Anxiety Relief

By far the most common issue for parents and children ages 6-18 is anxiety. Given how much it can take over the family life, parents are often arriving to therapy after seemingly trying it all on the home front.

At Serah, we combine 3 research-based modalities to work with anxiety, and we have seen almost 100% success rates when parents and children can grasp how to work together to get through this journey.

Anxiety Disorder is 100% curable.

ADHD Recovery

Focus, Comprehension, Social Cues, Sibling Relationships, and of course, basic daily tasks at home and at school - all of these are often a much bigger deal than usual when a child or family is dealing with ADHD or neurodivergent ways of operating.

If this desccribes you or your child, your story isn’t over just yet.

Thousands of children and families have been supported and helped to a new way of living and relating - and at Serah, we are proud to be on the leading edge of this work amidst our honorable colleagues of child and family therapists across the globe.

Adolescent Connection

After toddlerhood, Adolescence is one of the biggest developmental bridges. It is at this time that many families face underlying issues that were just hidden enough until now - and sometimes, the blowup happens quickly, suddenly, and in a messy way.

These moments in time can prove to bring the most powerful transitions for the adolescent AND their parents.

This era can push parents to their very limits - yet the willingness to take the leap and meet the child where they are, tends to be a most rewarding choice for everyone involved.
